A Number of Injured as In-Flight Disturbance Strikes Delta Flight Landing at Sydney

Multiple passengers and crew have been injured following a Delta Airlines aircraft from Los Angeles to Sydney, Australia experienced turbulence Friday morning.

The flight, numbered 41 "went through a short bout of rough air" as it touched down at the Sydney airport, a representative for the carrier stated. A number of the onboard staff required medical attention.

Local paramedics stated they evaluated five patients, and transferred three to hospital with minor injuries that comprised pain in the back and migraines. The injured were between their 30s to 70s.

It is the latest incident of planes being hit by turbulence, with researchers indicating that global warming is a key driver.

There were 245 people and a crew of 15 on the Airbus A350, the official added, stating that the plane touched down "safely and normally" at the airport at 6:48 a.m. local time on the day in question.
