Chiefs Acknowledge Alleged Abuse Claims Involving Player the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment on Wednesday evening confirming they are aware of claims of abuse made public in social media posts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver the athlete and were in communication with the NFL.
The organization did not mention Rice specifically in their statement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.

The woman, who likewise did not name the athlete directly, posted a series of photos on Instagram that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. She stated the individual in question was the father of her children, and it is known she has kids with Rice, whom the Chiefs drafted in the second round.

Rice's Recent Legal Issues
Rice was absent for the first six games of this season due to an league-mandated ban for his involvement in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that resulted in several individuals hurt. He was sentenced 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to felony charges.
