Netflix Chooses Spot-On Star for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Season 3
The Secret Organization is set to make a major impact in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the true confrontation won’t take place until the third season, and a beloved, audience-beloved member has now been chosen.
The streaming service revealed Tuesday that the talented performer has joined the One Piece season 3 cast and will play Mr. 2. The role possesses the power to transform into an identical duplicate of anyone they’ve touched with their right hand. Escola, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will play a rendition of that figure reimagined as gender non-binary, instead of as a drag queen, in the live-action series, differing from the initial comic and animated series.
The new cast member joins a number of fresh additions tasked with bringing the group to life, featuring head Sir Crocodile, played by Joe Manganiello, a talented actress as another operative, and a familiar face, who also joins the cast as the ruler of the desert kingdom.
Even though the role is a major member of the organization, the individual won’t make their debut One Piece the third season. With season 2 set to cover the Little Garden storyline, this signals a notable change in the timing of the character’s debut, one that could indicate more adjustments to the story’s structure.
Escola’s blend of sharp comedic timing and deep sensitivity makes them a ideal selection for the character. Along with their current animated role in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and multiple awards for writing and starring in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, showcasing the adaptability they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated figures.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its next installment on the tenth of March, 2026.
